Anyone interested in coming to look at the microbrewery is most welcome.
There are three types of brewery tour available.
Residential.
We are pleased to offer you the opportunity to join us in brewing our hand crafted natural cask ales. You are invited to join us for a day’s brewing, which will last from 09.00 until approximately 18.00 hours. The day involves some physical activity, some information sessions, lunch and product sampling opportunities. The day will be led by our Brewster, Debbie (MSc,PGCE) and Annabel and Steve will look after your comfort and refreshments.
You will be helping us to weigh the malts, mash in, set taps and weigh the copper. Having done this we will need to boil the wort and after a small amount of mathematics, add the hops, calculators provided! After a while the wort is ready for transfer via the heat exchanger to the fermentation vessel and we will need to pitch the yeast if we are to achieve beer.
To produce a top quality product takes care and time and there are occasions where we sit and wait. During these times we will be offering information on the history of beer, malt and hop varieties and beer recipes for those of you who are interested.
You will need to wear safe waterproof footwear and easy fitting old clothes as brewing can be a wet and sometimes messy experience. A risk assessment will be carried out before you undertake any participatory activity within the brewing area.
As you can see the day starts early, is full and busy and can be tiring and we would recommend a two night stay. Your accommodation will be in Ty Mawr Country Hotel which is attached to the brewery. www.wales-country-hotel.co.uk
There are many attractions locally if you have partners or friends who do not wish to participate in the brewing day. A brewers dinner can be arranged in the evening in Ty Mawr.

Group. We recommend this tour for groups of people (maximum number 18) who want to understand a little more about where their beer comes from. These tours usually take place on a Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday when the brewery and tap room are not open to the public. Debbie will explain how the various parts of our plant work and how a brew is done. There will be plenty of chances to taste the beer and a meal is served at the end of the talk.
Individual. We are willing to explain the brewing process to just one person if they are interested and we have time. It is probably best to call us on 01267-202332 to arrange a mutually convenient time.
